Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily accounting activity by recording transactions accurately and keeping financial records current and organized.
- Reconcile key accounts, including cash, receivables, payables, and general ledger balances, to support a reliable month-end close process.
- Help prepare periodic financial statements and supporting reports for leadership, board members, and other external audiences.
- Contribute to the development of annual and departmental budgets by compiling data, reviewing figures, and assisting with planning needs.
- Monitor grant activity, donor funding, and restricted versus unrestricted resources to ensure proper classification, usage, and reporting.
- Provide audit support by assembling schedules, organizing documentation, and responding to information requests from external auditors.
- Assist with the preparation of required tax filings and regulatory submissions, including annual nonprofit reporting documents.
- Partner with program and fundraising teams to track the financial impact of grants, contributions, and special events while promoting policy compliance.
- Strengthen adherence to internal controls, financial procedures, and established accounting standards across day-to-day operations.
