Senior Cost Accountant - Manufacturing $85,000-$115,000 Annually | Pittsboro, IN We are seeking an experienced Senior Cost Accountant to support a new, advanced manufacturing operation in Pittsboro, Indiana. This position will play a key role in developing and maintaining product-costing, inventory-control, and financial-reporting processes as the facility continues to grow. The ideal candidate has strong, hands-on manufacturing cost-accounting experience and is comfortable partnering with production, supply-chain, engineering, and plant leadership teams. Key Responsibilities Develop, maintain, and audit standard costs for manufactured products, including materials, labor, and overhead Analyze purchase-price, labor-efficiency, and overhead variances Prepare cost and operational reports for plant and finance leadership Manage inventory valuation, reconciliation, cycle counts, and physical inventories Review Bills of Materials and complete accurate cost rollups Support month-end and year-end close, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations Analyze cost of goods sold, product margins, and manufacturing performance Assist with budgeting, forecasting, pricing, and cost-reduction initiatives Partner with production, engineering, and supply-chain teams to identify cost drivers Help establish scalable cost-accounting procedures and internal controls Support internal and external audit requests involving inventory and manufacturing costs Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting standards Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field 4-7 years of progressive accounting experience At least 3 years of direct cost-accounting experience within a manufacturing environment Strong knowledge of standard costing, inventory accounting, variance analysis, and Bills of Materials Experience supporting month-end close and preparing account reconciliations Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, SUMIFS, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, and financial modeling Experience working with an ERP system such as SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, Workday, or a similar platform Strong understanding of GAAP and manufacturing cost-accounting principles Preferred Experience Engineer-to-Order, custom-fabrication, or complex manufacturing experience Experience developing cost-accounting processes for a new or rapidly growing facility Electrical, industrial, construction-related, or modular manufacturing experience Power BI or other financial-reporting and data-visualization experience CMA or CPA certification, or progress toward certification Ideal Candidate Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Highly accurate and detail-oriented Comfortable working in a growing environment with evolving processes Able to communicate financial information clearly to operational leaders Capable of working independently while keeping leadership informed Interested in taking ownership of processes and helping shape a new operation
