The Opportunity As the Payroll Accountant, you will have the opportunity to: Assist in the preparation of weekly Union Payroll and monthly Union reporting in a timely and accurate manner Coordinate weekly with various Black & Veatch departments to ensure end-to-end processing is completed Works under frequent supervision Key Responsibilities Assist in processing weekly Union Payrolls. Assist in completing and filing monthly Union reports. Coordinate with Human Resources and Construction Field Timekeeping to ensure accurate information is provided as it applies to the Recording of Time. Close communication with Management. Submits manual journal entries to the GL Accounting team. Work with IT to secure assistance with special reporting needs. Work closely with the Payroll team to complete monthly Union reporting. Assist fellow Payroll co-workers on Payroll processing tasks as time permits. Assists with additional Payroll Processing and special projects, as assignedPrimary Internal Clients:
Payroll team, HR,Accounting, Timekeeping, andConstruction team As a necessary aspect of pay administration functions, this position has access to confidential personnel records and pay information not otherwise available Preferred Qualifications Experience in Payroll processing Experience in Union reporting Knowledge and understanding ofFringe Benefits and Burdens Preferred Technical Skills:
Data Entry Microsoft Excel and Outlook Intermediate Preferred Non-Technical Skills:
Self-starter Organizing Planning Written and verbal Communications Informing Peer Relationships Problem Solving Dealing with Ambiguit Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent experience Typically 2+ years related experience All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations. Work Environment/Physical Demands Typical office environment Extensive keyboarding, no travel, limited overtime.
