Junior Accountant Roessel Joy Watertown, MA Job Details Full-time | Contract $27 - $32 an hour 13 hours ago Qualifications Accounts receivable management Cash application Spreadsheets Research Financial analysis Bachelor's degree Accounting Full Job Description Overview A Junior Accountant is needed to step in immediately and take ownership of day-to-day Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable across all business units. This is a hands-on, high-volume role suited to someone who is comfortable working across multiple entities at once. Key Responsibilities Accounts Payable Process high-volume vendor invoices across all business units/entities Code invoices to the correct entity, department, and GL account Match invoices to POs/receiving documents where applicable Prepare and process ACH, checks, and electronic payments Review vendor statements and resolve discrepancies Maintain vendor records and W-9 documentation Respond to internal teams and vendors on invoice/payment questions Accounts Receivable Support high-volume contract billing activity across multiple revenue streams Generate and send customer/contract invoices Post daily/weekly payments and apply cash to the correct accounts Monitor aging reports and follow up on past-due balances Research payment discrepancies, short pays, and unapplied cash Process credit memos, refunds, and account adjustments Reconcile AR subledger activity to the GL Multi-Entity / Junior Accounting Operate within a decentralized, multi-entity structure, understanding how activity flows and reconciles across business units Perform bank and credit card reconciliations across entities Assist with month-end close Prepare basic journal entries and accruals Reconcile intercompany balances and transactions Allocate shared expenses across business units Maintain prepaid expense schedules Investigate discrepancies between individual business units and corporate accounting Support the CFO/CPO with financial reporting and ad hoc analysis as needed Qualifications Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Related 2+ Years of Accounting Experience Experience with full-cycle AP and AR required; multi-entity or decentralized business exposure is a strong plus Comfortable working in a high-volume, high-transaction environment with multiple revenue streams Strong Excel skills Highly adaptable — this is a startup environment where processes and priorities can shift quickly Self-sufficient and able to hit the ground running with minimal onboarding time #RJAF123
Pay:
$27.00 - $32.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
