Job Description

About the Role We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our growing finance team. This role will support the Accounting Manager in day-to-day accounting operations and assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, month-end close activities, account reconciliations, and financial reporting. The successful candidate will gain broad exposure to multiple areas of accounting within a publicly traded company and will have the opportunity to develop their skills in financial reporting, SEC reporting, inventory accounting, audit support, and general accounting operations. Key Responsibilities Accounts Payable Process vendor invoices and ensure proper coding and approvals. Assist in preparing weekly payment runs. Maintain vendor records and respond to vendor inquiries. Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies. Support month-end accounts payable accruals. Accounts Receivable Prepare and distribute customer invoices. Apply customer payments and maintain accurate customer account records. Assist with collection efforts and follow up on outstanding balances. Resolve customer billing inquiries and discrepancies. Maintain accounts receivable aging schedules. General Accounting Prepare journal entries and supporting documentation. Perform monthly account reconciliations. Assist with balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis. Maintain fixed asset and prepaid expense schedules. Support inventory accounting and inventory reserve analyses. Assist with inventory reconciliations and inventory cycle count activities. Ensure financial records are complete, accurate, and properly documented. Month-End Close & Financial Reporting Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities. Prepare supporting schedules for financial reporting. Assist with revenue recognition support schedules. Assist with supporting schedules and documentation for quarterly and annual SEC filings. Maintain accounting workpapers and documentation. Support ad hoc financial analyses and reporting requests. Audit & Compliance Support Assist with the preparation of audit schedules and supporting documentation. Support quarterly review and year-end audit requests. Help maintain compliance with company policies and accounting procedures. Participate in process improvement initiatives and special projects. QualificationsRequired Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 2-4 years of accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, or bookkeeping experience. Strong understanding of accounting principles. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Strong communication and problem-solving abilities. Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. Preferred Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar software. Experience in a manufacturing or inventory-based environment. Exposure to month-end close processes. Knowledge of US GAAP. Public company experience a plus. CPA candidate or interest in pursuing a CPA designation is a plus. What Success Looks Like Within the first 12 months, the successful candidate will: Take ownership of assigned AP and AR responsibilities. Complete monthly reconciliations accurately and on time. Become a reliable contributor to the month-end close process. Support successful quarterly reviews, SEC reporting processes, and annual audits. Improve efficiency and accuracy within accounting processes. Develop a strong understanding of the Company's accounting operations and internal controls. Pay:
$55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
