Position Overview:
As our Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for recording financial transactions of several entities, along with reconciling accounts and reviewing GL schedules. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, payroll, excellent communication skills, pays close attention to detail, has a strong sense of priorities, can meet deadlines, and is quick to pick up new procedures and knowledge. Responsibilities include, but not limited to: Manage and review account detail, schedules, journals, trial balance, general ledgers, financial statements, and daily operating reports on a regular basis. Record financial data effectively, accurately, and timely. Assist with special projects that are highly confidential. Fix or report any issues, errors or irregularities on a timely basis. Effectively set priorities and communicate status of work assignments. Travel to and support the business offices throughout mid-Michigan. Assist with year end and provide documents to outside accounting firm.

Maintain a very high level of ethics and confidentiality. Self-starter with an ability to work with limited supervision. Strive for continuous process improvement with technology advances. Interact and communicate effectively in-person and via Microsoft Teams. Organized with a keen attention to detail. Knowledge of applicable local, provincial, and federal regulations and laws as they pertain to the group. Observe rules of confidentiality as they relate to customer information, both internally and in dealing with outside individuals and vendors.
Qualifications:
At least 2 years experience in Accounting and Payroll Problem solving skills Flexible and enjoys a variety of tasks Works well independently and in team environments Ability to adapt to multiple software programs Excellent communication skills Knowledge of Microsoft 365, including SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive Auto Dealership experience a major plus!
