Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support core accounting operations in Michigan. This role is well suited for an early-career candidate who is eager to strengthen financial reporting accuracy, maintain organized records, and contribute to day-to-day ledger activity. The ideal candidate brings a solid academic foundation in accounting or finance, strong spreadsheet skills, and hands-on experience preparing journal entries and working within accounting systems.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and post journal entries to ensure financial transactions are recorded accurately and on time. Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, investigating discrepancies and resolving issues as needed. Support month-end and year-end closing activities by organizing financial data and assisting with account analysis. Review accounting records for completeness and accuracy while helping uphold internal documentation standards. Use QuickBooks and other accounting tools to process routine financial activity and generate supporting reports. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather information needed for reconciliations, reporting, and daily accounting tasks. Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field. At least 1 year of experience in an accounting role. Practical understanding of journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger processes. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word for financial analysis, reporting, and documentation. Experience working with accounting software such as QuickBooks is preferred. Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities accurately.
