The Opportunity We're looking for a Senior Accountant / Finance Manager to take ownership of our accounting and financial operations while becoming an important business partner to ownership and leadership. This role is designed for a strong Senior Accountant who is ready to expand beyond traditional accounting responsibilities and grow into broader financial leadership. This is a hands-on leadership role. You'll be responsible for the day-to-day accounting function, including month-end close, financial reporting, cost accounting, inventory, and maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our financial information. At the same time, we need someone who can look beyond the accounting function and help us build the financial structure and visibility required to support continued growth. You'll have direct access to ownership and the opportunity to influence decisions around profitability, cash flow, budgeting, forecasting, costs, operational performance, and long-term growth. As the company grows, there will be an opportunity to build additional accounting support around this position. For now, this person will be the primary financial resource for the organization and should be comfortable both doing the work and helping shape where the function goes next. What You'll Do Own the company's day-to-day accounting and financial operations Manage the month-end and year-end close process and ensure accurate, timely financial reporting Prepare and analyze financial statements and management reports Maintain the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and other core accounting functions Oversee inventory accounting, manufacturing costs, standard costs, variances, and profitability Analyze production and operational costs and identify opportunities for improvement Develop and maintain budgets, forecasts, cash-flow projections, and financial models Provide ownership and leadership with meaningful financial analysis and business insight Help leadership understand profitability, margins, cash flow, and the financial impact of operational decisions Establish and improve accounting policies, procedures, internal controls, and financial processes Identify opportunities to make the accounting function more efficient, accurate, and scalable Support and improve the use of the company's ERP and financial systems Partner closely with operations and manufacturing to improve cost visibility and financial performance Manage relationships with outside accounting, tax, banking, and other financial partners Support tax preparation, audits, insurance requirements, and other external financial needs Prepare financial information and analysis for ownership and strategic planning Develop the financial reporting and infrastructure needed to support the company's continued growth Take ownership of special projects and financial analysis as the business evolves What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field 5+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience Experience in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred Experience at a Senior Accountant, Accounting Manager, Finance Manager, Assistant Controller, or similar level Strong understanding of general accounting, financial statements, month-end close, cost accounting, inventory, and internal controls Experience with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and financial analysis Strong Excel skills and experience working with ERP/accounting systems Ability to personally perform detailed accounting work while also thinking at a higher strategic level Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication skills and the ability to work directly with ownership and leadership A proactive, entrepreneurial approach and the ability to identify what needs to be done without waiting for direction Comfortable working in a growing company where processes and systems are continuing to evolve The Person Who Will Thrive Here This role is ideal for someone who has outgrown a purely transactional accounting position and wants greater ownership and influence. You may currently be a Senior Accountant ready to step into a broader Finance Manager or Controller role. Or you may already be an Accounting Manager or Finance Manager in a smaller organization and enjoy being close to the numbers and the business. Either way, you should be someone who can roll up their sleeves and get into the details—but who also naturally asks, "What does this mean for the business?" You'll have the opportunity to build processes, improve reporting, bring greater financial visibility to leadership, and become a trusted financial partner to ownership. We're not looking for someone who simply closes the books and hands over a set of financial statements. We're looking for someone who can own the numbers, understand the story behind them, and help leadership use that information to make better decisions.
