Finance Accountant

Responsibilities:

Carry out all assigned duties relating to School Finance, UFARS, A/P, A/R, and General Ledger maintenance Enter timesheets for the Payroll Accountant and review time tracker each payroll Submit monthly CLICS to MDE for reimbursement of student breakfast and lunch Review weekly A/P reports produced by A/P Specialist for accuracy and set up new vendors in the finance software Code monthly transportation invoices from Saints Bus Assist with year-end audit and annual budget process Work with Food Service Program accounting and annual applications Follow school district procedures for reconciling bank accounts Assists with invoicing/coding of revenue and expenditures Assists with forecasting confidential employee wage and benefit expenditures Assists in the development and implementation of the annual budget and budget calendar Reviews student activity accounts verifying that all account transactions meet the guidelines of the Minnesota Department of Education regulations and Minnesota law.

Qualifications:

Accounting, finance, or business degree from an accredited college or university preferred. 3-5 years of experience in accounting-related position. Experience working with employment benefits and employee and retiree human resource items. Experience working with SMART accounting system preferred. Knowledge of Minnesota school accounting and UFARS coding system is preferred. Ability to work with computerized accounting systems and applications, particularly Excel spreadsheets

Pay:

$50,000.00 - $58,954.00 per year
