Job DescriptionJob Description About Profectus Livestock Solutions:
Profectus Livestock Solutions, located in Worthington, MN, is a supplier of high-quality nutrition and animal health products to livestock producers across the upper Midwest. Our staff of veterinarians, nutritionists, livestock specialists and support staff partner with farmers and ranchers to solve problems on their operations by improving animal health, increasing performance, and improving profitability. Join our Team as a Staff Accountant We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team! This role is essential for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end close processes, and ensuring the integrity of Profectus's financial data. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of general accounting principles, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively across multiple entities and customer accounts. Key Responsibilities Manage day-to-day accounts receivable and accounts payable workflows, ensuring compliance with company standards. Monitor aging reports and follow up on outstanding balances to ensure timely collections. Review and verify accounts payable invoices for accuracy and proper approvals prior to payment. Assist in executing a timely and accurate 7-day month-end close process. Prepare and post adjusting journal entries in accordance with GAAP. Perform monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts, researching and resolving reconciling items. Maintain complete bookkeeping records for related companies and designated customers. Assist in maintaining and organizing service contracts and financial obligations. Generate financial and operational reports from the ERP system to support management decision-making. Support ongoing ERP optimization initiatives and participate in system training. Assist with annual tax preparation and support external CPAs as needed. Support the CFO with ad hoc financial analysis, reporting, and special projects. Qualifications Associate's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; Bachelor's Degree preferred. Minimum of 3 years of hands-on accounting experience, including AR/AP, general ledger, and month-end close responsibilities. Experience in an agricultural, veterinary, feed distribution, or related industry is a plus. Proficiency with ERP systems required; experience with NetSuite strongly preferred. Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with AI platforms such as Claude is advantageous. High degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Collaborative team player with a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset. Demonstrated integrity and discretion in handling confidential financial information.
