6-Month Contract with Potential to Extend or Convert Role Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented professional to support capital project closeout and fixed asset capitalization activities. This role will review capital project expenditures, reconcile financial transactions to physical assets, and partner with Engineering, Finance, Project Management, and vendors to ensure assets are accurately documented and capitalized. Key Responsibilities Review capital project transactions, purchase orders, invoices, and commitments within D365. Reconcile project expenditures to individual fixed assets and asset groups. Work with project managers, engineers, facility teams, and vendors to identify equipment purchased and installed. Support capital project closeout and asset capitalization activities. Maintain trackers for assets, transactions, locations, open items, and capitalization status. Research invoices, purchase orders, commissioning records, and project documentation to resolve discrepancies. Coordinate with Fixed Asset Accounting to ensure assets are accurately established in the system. Follow up with internal stakeholders and vendors to obtain missing documentation and close outstanding items. Prepare reports summarizing capitalization progress, open issues, and potential tax depreciation opportunities. Qualifications Experience with capital projects, fixed assets, accounting, procurement, or project controls. Strong reconciliation, analytical, and investigative skills. Ability to interpret purchase orders, invoices, contracts, and vendor documentation. Advanced Excel skills and strong attention to detail. Experience with D365 Finance & Operations, SAP, Oracle, or a similar ERP preferred. Knowledge of fixed asset accounting and capitalization processes preferred. Manufacturing, pharmaceutical, biotech, engineering, or other regulated industry experience is a plus. Ability to independently manage multiple open items and drive issues through resolution. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate enjoys digging into the details, connecting financial transactions to physical assets, and working across Engineering, Operations, Finance, and external vendors to successfully close capital projects.
