Penmac Staffing is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Senior Accountant to join our internal Accounting team at our corporate office in Springfield, Missouri. This is a direct-hire, internal position with Penmac Staffing and is not a temporary or contract assignment. In this role, you'll support the financial operations of one of the nation's largest employee-owned staffing companies by maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with financial reporting, and identifying opportunities to improve processes and efficiencies. Senior Accountant:

This role plays a key part in supporting daily accounting operations and month-end financial processes.

Core accounting responsibilities:

Prepare and post journal entries and complete gl account reconciliations for month-end and year-end closeAssist in creating monthly financial statements and review bank reconciliationsReview AP check runs for accuracy and maintain fixed asset schedules and related entriesSupport annual audits and regulatory filings (including 1099s) with documentation as neededServe as payroll backup and assist in year end reporting/ w-2's — reviewing tax filings, garnishments, and benefit deductions for accuracy, and assisting with payroll reconciliationsCollaborate with branch locations, payroll, HR, and other departments to resolve accounting issues, maintaining confidentiality throughoutTake on special projects and other accounting initiatives as assigned

What We're Looking For:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field requiredThree or more years of progressive accounting experience preferredExperience with payroll accounting, financial reporting, or multi-location operations is a plusAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, Pivot Tables, and data analysisStrong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting practicesExcellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilitiesStrong attention to detail and commitment to accuracyAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentExcellent communication and collaboration skillsAbility to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment Watch for a call from Recruiter Penny!
