Senior Accountant -
Capital Projects Location:
Columbus Central Service- Columbus, MT Schedule:
5x2, 4x3 9hr
Shifts Job Responsibilities and Duties:
At Sibanye-Stillwater, the Senior Accountant is responsible for the internal and external financial reporting process for Sibanye-Stillwater's US PGM Segment. The Senior Accountant will ensure timely and accurate completion and compliance with GAAP and IFRS and applicable regulatory reporting. The Senior Accountant will also be required to provide financial operating results to multiple levels of management ensuring accuracy and timeliness of the information. This role's work is regulated through practices and procedures generally set by precedents or well-defined policies . Investigate and respond to questions from the executive team regarding operating and financial metrics, including trends analysis, analytics, and transactional details. Develop, maintain, and monitor project budgets, forecasts, and cost-to-complete analyses. Track project expenditures, commitments, and accruals to ensure alignment with approved budgets. Generate monthly forecasts, cash flow projections, and financial performance reports. Support annual budgeting and long-range financial planning initiatives. Partner with project managers to develop project schedules, milestones, and financial objectives. Monitor project progress and provide financial guidance throughout the project lifecycle. Review change orders, contract modifications, and vendor proposals to determine financial impacts. Maintain compliance with governing accounting principles and regulatory financial reporting related to the Company. Review vendor invoices, subcontractor billings, and purchase orders for accuracy and compliance Support project closeout activities, including final cost analysis and lessons learned reviews. Assist with periodic review of accounting policies, procedures, and work-flow practices. Assist with contract compliance and financial risk assessments. Assist with internal and external audits. Preparation or review of complete and accurate Company consolidated financial results for reporting to internal/external stakeholders. Generate, review, and post general journal entries to the Company's financial books and records. Prepare and review timely account reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial reporting. Providing visible leadership within the Accounting/Finance department. Foster positive, cooperative relationships with other groups in the Company and within the Accounting/Finance department.
Qualifications and Skills:
Ability to plan, schedule, and execute work. Attention to detail and accuracy with a high level of initiative and task completion. High level of integrity and confidentiality Proven excellent organizational skills including the ability to multitask, plan, prioritize and complete projects timely. Ability to communicate with multiple site locations and at all levels to accumulate data, interpret results, propose changes, and report the financial effect of business decisions. Knowledge of statutory and
GAAP/IFRS
accounting; including Sarbanes Oxley requirements. Strong technical and analytical skills in finance, general accounting, budgeting, and financial analysis. Proven proficiency in the preparation and review of documents, reports, and communication materials. Proven analytical and financial modeling skills. Knowledge of project management and reporting tools such as Microsoft Project, or Power BI preferred. Education & Experience BS degree in accounting, finance, or related field or a minimum of 4 years relevant accounting/finance experience. CPA or CMA (preferred).
