This contract position is ideal for someone who can work independently, bring structure to core accounting activities, and support accurate financial reporting during a period of operational change. The role offers the opportunity to contribute directly to month-end close, general ledger oversight, and project-based financial analysis while partnering closely with business and finance leaders.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead the monthly close cycle from start to finish, ensuring deadlines are met and financial data is complete and accurate.
  • Prepare and post journal entries while maintaining supporting documentation for key accounting transactions.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts, bank activity, and other balance sheet items to resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Perform detailed job costing reviews and analyze project-related financial information to support better business decisions.
  • Assist with accounting system conversion efforts, including activities tied to moving from QuickBooks to Sage Intacct.
  • Support the shift to accrual-based financial reporting by improving schedules, processes, and accounting documentation.
  • Work closely with operational leaders and the Corporate Controller to address reporting needs and accounting issues.
  • Help strengthen internal accounting procedures and controls within the acquired business entity.
  • Contribute to special projects connected to acquisition integration and finance process improvement initiatives.
