Job Description
Servio Capital is a private real estate investment and property management firm with a multi-state portfolio of multifamily, HOA, and other real estate assets. We are hiring an on-site Controller to own accounting and financial reporting for the company and its related entities. Responsibilities Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close across a multi-entity structure (properties, HOAs, corporate, and related companies) Maintain the general ledger in AppFolio, including bank reconciliations, intercompany activity, accruals, fixed assets, and journal entries Oversee accounts payable and receivable and review coding for accuracy by entity Prepare property-level and consolidated reporting for ownership; support budgeting and variance review with operations Prepare workpapers and supporting schedules for the company's outside CPA firm Review payroll registers and allocate wages to the correct entities (payroll is processed through a third-party provider) Maintain documentation and schedules that support multi-state tax and year-end compliance (NC, SC, TX, LA, and other states as applicable) Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent experience 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years in real estate or property-management accounting Direct responsibility for month-end close in a multi-entity environment AppFolio accounting experience (general ledger, bank recs, and close), or comparable property-accounting systems with the ability to ramp quickly on AppFolio Strong Excel skills and clear written and verbal communication with ownership and operations CPA preferred Compensation and benefits $125,000-$155,000, depending on experience Health, dental, vision, and life insurance 401(k) Paid time off On-site role with direct working relationship with ownership Please include your target compensation and a brief note on your AppFolio or other property-accounting system experience.
