General Job Description:
The Staff Accountant is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation of the Business Office. Responsibilities included applying accounting principles to record, process and report timely and accurate financial data, as well as maintaining appropriate accounting control procedures.
Essential Duties:
Manage the weekly and monthly billings for the Holy Angels locations. Manage the processing of cash receipts, the recording of revenue and receivables and work closely with the Accounting Team to ensure that all revenues and receivables in Great Plains are reconciled with billing data. Manage the Bi-weekly payroll processing and to record the Payroll Journal Entries. Manage the Business Office Staff and evaluate their performance. Manage the processing Inventory Requisitions and Purchasing expenses on a weekly and monthly basis to ensure the accuracy of the account coding to correct cost centers. Manage the quarterly physical inventory and to make any necessary adjustments. Prepare and analyze the weekly and monthly actual billing and expense reports for each programs and departments. Prepare monthly reconciliation of personal funds accounts and send out quarterly letters. Manage the Designated Revenue monthly reconciliation. Perform general accounts analysis and reconciliations, including bank statements, fixed assets, employer's benefit costs, accruals and prepaid expenses. Assist in the preparation of financial reports such as financial statements, budget performance and financial analysis. Assists with the annual Budget preparation. Assists with the annual financial audits and Cost Reports preparation. Assists in implementing procedural and policy changes to improve operational efficiency. Assists in analyzing and monitoring internal processes and controls. Assists with Controller and CFO with IT (Information Technology) needs. Comply with all safety and health policies and procedures. Maintain acceptable level of professionalism attendance and punctuality. Performs other duties as assigned by the Controller and CFO.
Professionalism Minimum Level of Education and Experience Required:
B.S./B.A.
Degree in Accounting or Finance Minimum of five years' experience in a similar field. Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload in order to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Be able to demonstrate attention to details and good record-keeping. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, especially Excel). Hands-on detail-oriented tasks. Team player and can collaborate with other teams in the organization. High level of interpersonal skills with demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy. Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, with the ability to clearly communicate issues to all levels of management. Holy Angels is a place unlike any other.
