Full-time, exempt About the Company Guardian Logistics Solutions, a provider of transportation, warehousing, and logistics services across the Southeast, is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our growing finance team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a direct impact at a private equity-backed company positioned for significant growth, including active involvement in acquisition activity as we expand our footprint across the region. Position Summary We are seeking a hands-on Senior Accountant to own the day-to-day accounting operations and monthly close. This is a growth-oriented role for someone who wants both to execute and to take ownership. You will run the close end-to-end, ensure the integrity of our financial statements, and partner closely with the VP of Finance on technical accounting, audit, and reporting. You will supervise our AR/AP specialists and serve as the operational backbone of the finance function. You will play an important role in scaling our accounting function to support our growth. You will also have strong visibility to leadership and clear opportunities for career advancement. This role is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys building processes and procedures and wants to grow alongside a company in an active investment and expansion phase. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and support transactional accounting operations (billing, accounts receivable/collections, accounts payable), supervising the specialists who execute those functions.
- Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and the accurate and timely production of GAAP financial statements.
- Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and chart of accounts, and ensure accounting policies are applied consistently.
- Manage payroll accounting and coordinate with the company's payroll provider.
- Manage cash accounting and support cash flow reporting and forecasting in coordination with the VP of Finance.
- Prepare schedules, reconciliations, and support for the monthly board/investor reporting package.
- Lead audit preparation and serve as a primary point of contact for external auditors, tax preparers, and other third-party providers.
- Support lender reporting and debt covenant compliance in coordination with the VP of Finance.
- Identify and implement improvements to close speed, controls, and process efficiency as the company scales.
- Support ad hoc analysis, special projects, and integration work related to acquisitions. Qualifications Required
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including ownership of a full monthly close.
- Strong working knowledge of
U.S. GAAP.
- Proven experience producing accurate financial statements on a tight monthly timeline.
- Proficiency with accounting/ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently in a lean environment. Preferred
- CPA (active or in progress).
- QuickBooks Online experience.
- Experience at a private equity-backed company.
- Experience supporting and integrating acquisitions. What Success Looks Like
