Description:
A leading, privately held real estate development, investment and management company that has acquired or developed more than 15 million square feet of commercial, residential, retail, and industrial projects is currently seeking a Family Office Accountant to maintain the books and records for the Owners' personal and closely held business entities, trusts and foundations. A successful candidate for this position will be a self-starter, attentive to detail and passionate about their work.
Requirements:
Responsibilities Completes basic level accounting transactions in preparation of owner financial statements Creates and posts journal entries in QuickBooks (or other accounting software, if needed) Processes monthly invoices and payments Processes year end 1099s to vendors Ensures that all expenses, cash receipts, owner distributions, payroll funding requests and other transactions for the accounting period have been administered and accurately posted. Generates and reviews monthly trial balances for accuracy. Reconciles bank accounts Responds to and resolves requests from owners regarding various accounting issues and reports including Balance Sheet and Statement of Operations. Liaison with tax preparers for family office tax returns Ad hoc reporting as required Skills and Experience Bachelors' degree in accounting Minimum of 3 years' experience in accounting in a family office or small business environment QuickBooks experience required Excellent written and verbal communication skills Experience dealing with Executive level management Experience with accounting for Trusts and Foundations Discretion required due to confidentiality of information being processed
