full-time Cost Accountant (Temp-to-Perm) Pine Brook, NJ | fully onsite 6+ months temp-to-perm Up to $120,000 if converted in the future Our client, a global manufacturing company , is seeking a Cost Accountant to join its Finance team during a significant finance transformation initiative. This is a high-impact opportunity for an accountant who enjoys improving processes, driving change, and partnering across the business to build a more centralized accounting and reporting function. This position will support month-end close, financial reporting, general ledger accounting, Percentage-of-Completion (POC) accounting , cost accounting, and process improvement initiatives while working closely with operations, engineering, and leadership. Responsibilities Lead month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting. Support POC accounting, revenue recognition, and manufacturing cost accounting. Prepare financial statements, balance sheet reconciliations, variance analyses, and general ledger reviews. Partner with Operations, Engineering, and Manufacturing to improve accounting processes and reporting. Help identify inefficiencies, implement best practices, and support the company's finance transformation. Assist with audits, internal controls, ERP enhancements, and cross-functional projects. Support day-to-day accounting activities including AP, AR, fixed assets, and reporting. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting. 4+ years of accounting experience, preferably within manufacturing. Experience with cost accounting and Percentage-of-Completion (POC) accounting. Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting. ERP experience required; M3 is highly preferred . CPA preferred. Advanced Excel skills. Team:
You'll join a lean finance team of five (Accounting, Finance, AP, and AR) and serve as the replacement for a Senior Accountant, reporting directly to the Regional Controller. This role offers excellent long-term growth as the organization continues to centralize and modernize its accounting operations.
