About the Opportunity A growing industrial organization is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its finance team on a contract-to-hire basis. This position offers the opportunity to support a complex accounting environment while partnering closely with operations and leadership teams. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting knowledge, experience in manufacturing or project-based environments, and a proactive approach to process improvement. Key Responsibilities Support monthly and annual financial close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting. Prepare and analyze financial statements and supporting schedules. Assist with revenue recognition and project accounting activities. Perform balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger analysis. Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis initiatives. Partner with cross-functional teams to analyze operational and financial performance. Assist with audits, compliance activities, and internal controls. Participate in process improvement initiatives and systems enhancements. Support day-to-day accounting operations as needed. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 4+ years of progressive accounting experience. Experience within manufacturing, industrial, or project-based environments preferred. Strong understanding of financial reporting, accounting principles, and internal controls. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication abilities. Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively across departments. CPA designation or progress toward certification is a plus. ERP system experience preferred. Ascendo is an equal opportunity employer.
