full-time Our client is a growing manufacturing and distribution company seeking a Cost Accountant to join their accounting team. Following a recent acquisition, the company is expanding its accounting function and creating an opportunity for someone to take on broader responsibilities and grow with the organization. This is a hands-on role within a small, five-person accounting team, making it ideal for someone who is comfortable working independently and wants exposure to cost accounting, inventory, month-end close, and manufacturing operations. Responsibilities Prepare journal entries and maintain the general ledger Support monthly and year-end close Perform account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies Analyze production and inventory costs Prepare cost reports and variance analyses Support inventory costing and margin analysis Assist with AP/AR and financial reporting Support budgeting and forecasting Partner with operations and procurement to identify cost efficiencies Support audits and maintain accurate financial documentation Assist with process improvements and internal controls Take on additional accounting responsibilities as the organization grows Qualifications 3-5 years of accounting experience Strong GL, journal entry, reconciliation, and month-end close experience Manufacturing and/or cost accounting experience Experience with inventory accounting Knowledge of standard costing, variance analysis, inventory costing, or margin analysis Intermediate to advanced Excel skills Experience with an ERP/accounting system Sage 100 experience is a plus NetSuite experience is a plus Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
