Type:
full-time Job Summary We are a thriving footwear manufacturing and wholesale company looking for a sharp, detail-oriented General Ledger Analyst to join our finance team. Working directly under the Controller, you will play a critical role in overseeing daily accounting operations, driving the month-end close process, and ensuring accurate financial reporting. A plus will be experience in inventory accounting and standard costing. Key Responsibilities Bank and Credit card Reconciliations Perform regular reconciliations of bank statements, accounts and ledgers to identify discrepancies and ensure accuracy in financial reporting such as reviewing
AR/AP/JE
cash related entries, investigate any banking variances vs GL and resolve them promptly. Reconcile credit cards transactions posting and accruals. Month-End Close Perform monthly reconciliation for balance sheet and P&L accounts. Prepare and record journal entries, including accruals, prepaid expenses, and intercompany transactions along with maintaining clean and audit-ready workpapers. Track and reconcile GL accounts for Prepaid inventory, Purchase receipt accruals, and In-transit inventory balances. Maintain monthly Fixed Asset capitalization and Prepaid amortization schedule. Support month-end and year-end closing processes in accordance with GAAP including annual external audit requests tasks. Assist with sales and use tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
Qualifications & Skills Education:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
Experience:
3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, with a background in manufacturing, wholesale distribution, or consumer goods is a plus.
Technical Proficiency:
• Strong experience working with mid-to-enterprise level ERP systems. Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, complex formulas, and data manipulation). Familiarity with accounting software systems and any AI platforms i.e. Claude, Coursiv, Datatrail etc.
Core Competencies:
Deep understanding of GAAP, particularly surrounding revenue recognition, cash controls, and inventory valuation. Exceptional attention to detail, especially when managing high-volume bank accounts and complex reconciliations. Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally. What We Offer Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
