Job Description:
firstPRO is partnering with an established manufacturing company in the Pennsauken, NJ area that is looking to add an experienced Cost Accountant to its Finance team. This is a temp-to-perm opportunity for someone with a strong background in cost accounting, inventory accounting, and manufacturing who enjoys being hands-on with the day-to-day accounting operations. Looking to hire ASAP!
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee inventory accounting across production facilities, warehouses, and e-commerce operations Perform regular cycle counts and assist with physical inventory Maintain and improve standard costing models, product cost analyses, and landed cost calculations Reconcile inventory and research discrepancies across business units Support cost accounting for manufactured and processed goods, including yield and waste tracking Enter and review production orders with the Finance team Create purchase orders for inventory based on sales order planning Review daily inventory reports and investigate outstanding items Partner with Accounts Receivable and Sales regarding inventory needed for customer orders Assist with month-end inventory counts and reconcile inventory reports to the General Ledger Research variances and prepare related journal entries Review sales and gross profit reports for anomalies Assist the Controller with ad hoc reporting, projects, and process improvements
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance 3+ years of accounting experience Cost accounting and general accounting experience within a manufacturing environment required Strong inventory control and reconciliation experience Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including PivotTables and
VLOOKUP ERP
experience; Sage experience is a plus Experience supporting an ERP implementation or conversion is a plus Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills This is an excellent opportunity for a Cost Accountant who enjoys working closely with operations and wants to take ownership of inventory, costing, and related accounting processes.
