An Accountant organizes and maintains financial records and prepares financial statements for companies and organizations. Works as a public accountant (prepares financial documents where public disclosure is required by law, such as business balance sheets and tax returns), management accountant (prepares financial information for internal use by a company) or government accountant (maintains records for government agencies).
Our client is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its growing finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career accounting professional to gain hands-on experience with financial reporting, technical accounting, equity transactions, and audit support in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities:
Prepare journal entries and supporting schedules related to equity, stock-based compensation, and other accounting transactions.
Assist with technical accounting research and preparation of accounting memos.
Support financial reporting, accounting policy documentation, and internal control initiatives.
Assist with equity administration, including tracking issuances, modifications, and terminations.
Provide audit support by gathering documentation and responding to auditor requests.
Support accounting for acquisitions and other complex transactions.
Partner with finance leadership to improve processes and strengthen reporting controls.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
CPA or CPA-track preferred.
1+ years of accounting experience; public accounting internship or experience preferred.
Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and accounting research.
Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical abilities.
Excellent attention to detail, organization, and written communication skills.
