full-time About the Opportunity A well-established organization is seeking a General Accountant to join its finance team. This position is ideal for an accounting professional with a strong foundation in Accounts Payable who is looking to expand their exposure to general accounting and continue developing their skills. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, professional, and eager to learn. This role will work closely with finance leadership and provide exposure to a variety of accounting functions in a collaborative, professional environment. Key Responsibilities Process and review vendor invoices for accuracy, approvals, and proper account coding. Prepare and process payments, including checks, ACH, and wire transfers. Maintain vendor records and assist with W-9 and 1099 documentation. Reconcile vendor statements and research discrepancies. Assist with journal entries, accruals, and accounting adjustments. Perform bank and balance sheet account reconciliations. Support month-end and year-end closing activities. Maintain accurate and organized accounting records and supporting documentation. Assist with audit, tax, compliance, and financial reporting requirements. Collaborate with internal departments and external vendors to resolve accounting-related matters. Provide additional accounting and finance support as needed. Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred. 2+ years of Accounts Payable and/or general accounting experience. Strong understanding of basic accounting principles. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications. Experience with accounting or ERP software. Experience with vendor payments, reconciliations, and invoice processing. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Professional demeanor and ability to handle confidential financial information appropriately. Ascendo is an equal opportunity employer.
