427598SR Job Overview A well-established organization is seeking a General Accountant with strong Accounts Payable experience to join its accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career accounting professional who has a solid foundation in AP and is interested in gaining broader exposure to general accounting responsibilities. The ideal candidate is professional, organized, detail-oriented, well-spoken, and eager to learn . This position offers the opportunity to work closely with experienced accounting leadership in a professional and collaborative environment. Responsibilities Process vendor invoices and ensure proper approvals and account coding. Review invoices and supporting documentation for accuracy. Prepare and process vendor payments, including checks, ACH, and wire transfers. Maintain vendor records and documentation. Assist with W-9 collection and 1099 processing. Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies. Prepare and assist with journal entries, accruals, and adjustments. Perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations. Assist with general ledger maintenance. Support month-end and year-end close activities. Maintain accurate and organized financial records. Assist with audits, compliance requirements, and financial reporting. Work with internal departments and external vendors to resolve accounting matters. Provide additional accounting support as needed. Qualifications 2+ years of Accounts Payable and/or general accounting experience. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred. Strong knowledge of Accounts Payable processes and basic accounting principles. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office. Experience working with accounting or ERP software. Familiarity with journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger accounting. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling financial information. Professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills.
