Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or a candidate actively pursuing CPA licensure to join a growing public accounting firm in Waldwick, NJ. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of recent public accounting experience with expertise in financial reporting, auditing, tax preparation, and client relationship management. Experience with CCH Engagement and CCH Knowledge Coach is highly preferred. Key Responsibilities Prepare and review financial statements, compilations, reviews, and audits in accordance with GAAP and GAAS. Prepare and review individual, corporate, partnership, and trust tax returns. Manage engagement workflows using CCH Engagement, including trial balances, workpapers, and financial statement preparation. Utilize CCH Knowledge Coach for audit planning, risk assessments, and workpaper documentation. Perform tax planning, tax research, and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations. Communicate directly with clients to gather information, resolve issues, and provide accounting guidance. Supervise and mentor junior accountants and interns. Identify process improvements and ensure engagements are completed accurately and on schedule. Stay current with changes in accounting standards, tax laws, and regulatory requirements. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA license or actively pursuing CPA certification. Minimum 3+ years of recent public accounting experience. Strong knowledge of GAAP, GAAS, and federal/state tax regulations. Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and client management skills. Ability to manage multiple client engagements and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in Accounting or Taxation. Candidates who have passed one or more sections of the CPA exam. Experience mentoring or supervising accounting staff. Hands-on experience with CCH Engagement and CCH Knowledge Coach.
