This role oversees accounting activities tied to grants, contracts, budgets, and regional reporting while helping maintain strong financial controls and accurate records. The ideal candidate brings solid accounting knowledge, a careful approach to compliance, and the ability to collaborate effectively with program and operational leaders.
Responsibilities:
  • Oversee regional accounting activities across operating entities, including budgeting support, financial tracking, and contract- and grant-related reporting.
  • Administer grant and contract finances by monitoring spending, maintaining supporting records, and ensuring compliance with funding terms, regulatory standards, and documentation requirements.
  • Manage receivables by preparing agency billings, monitoring outstanding balances, and following up on collections to keep payments current.
  • Examine general ledger activity for accuracy and proper allocation, confirming that transactions are charged to the correct cost centers and funding sources.
  • Prepare and post journal entries related to accruals, corrections, cash activity, payroll allocations, loan transactions, petty cash, and intercompany movements as part of the monthly close process.
  • Maintain organized grant files that include agreements, correspondence, reimbursement support, expenditure records, and payment history.
  • Partner with program and grant leaders to review budget performance, discuss spending trends, and help ensure funds are used appropriately.
  • Review purchasing and payable transactions to confirm approvals, legitimacy, and correct coding, and assist with invoice entry and payment processing when needed.
  • Contribute to improvements in accounting procedures, reporting practices, and financial systems that strengthen fund, contract, and cost center visibility.
