Senior Accountant Location:
Dobbs Ferry, NY (hybrid flexibility)
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-5:00
PM Hourly Rate:
$40-45/hr Overview Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join their team on a temporary-to-hire basis. This position will play a key role in supporting the accounting and finance functions, including month-end close, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and system-related initiatives. The ideal candidate will have nonprofit accounting experience, strong technical accounting skills, and advanced Excel capabilities. Key Responsibilities Manage and support the month-end close process, ensuring accuracy and timely completion. Prepare financial analyses and reporting to support organizational decision-making. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities. Serve as a backup resource for HR and payroll-related projects as needed. Support the organization's ERP system transition from ADP to Sage Intacct. Create, maintain, and improve financial reports using advanced Excel functions, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs. Collaborate with accounting, finance, HR, and administrative teams to support operational objectives. Assist with process improvements and system enhancements related to accounting and financial reporting. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred. Experience in nonprofit accounting is required. Proven experience with month-end close processes. Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs . Experience working with enterprise accounting systems. Sage Intacct experience strongly preferred. Candidates without Sage Intacct experience must have worked with other robust accounting systems beyond QuickBooks. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities. Experience supporting ERP implementations, upgrades, or system conversions. Budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis experience. EB-2011676648
