Construction A well-established construction company in Suffolk County is seeking a detail-oriented, dependable Project Accountant to support the financial operations of large-scale construction projects. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys project-based accounting work, and wants to play a key role in ensuring accurate cost tracking and financial reporting. Perks & Benefits Medical, Dental & Vision Coverage 401(k) Plan with Company Match Paid Time Off (PTO) and Paid Holidays Life, Short-Term & Long-Term Disability Insurance Health Savings Account (HSA) & Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Additional benefits aligned with company policy and state guidelines Core Responsibilities Perform job cost reporting and maintain accurate project financial records Manage accounts payable , including cost coding, invoice review, and vendor communication Complete bank reconciliations and assist with union payroll reporting Work closely with Project Managers and Controllers to ensure timely approvals and proper cost allocation Process subcontractor and vendor invoices and review for contract compliance Submit required documentation through municipal reporting portals and track payment statuses Prepare and maintain Excel spreadsheets and contribute to financial reporting Assist with special projects and month-end tasks as directed by the Controller Ideal Candidate Profile 3-5+ years of construction accounting or project accounting experience Proficiency with Sage 300 (Timberline) or similar construction accounting software Strong understanding of job cost reporting and AP functions Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; comfortable managing large datasets Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of meeting deadlines Effective communicator with strong collaboration skills Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, project-driven environment Ready to Take the Next Step?
