Accounting Data Analytics Internship

Syracuse, NY Location This position is 100% in-office and reports to our facility on site in Syracuse, NY. Job Summary As an Accounting Data Analytics Intern, you will support the accounting team, building models to assist in solving complex business challenges and transforming data into actionable insights to support leadership decisions. Salary Range $22.50 per hour
Hours:
Fall Semester Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm Responsibilities Primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Data Analysis and Process Improvement:
Assist with building and maintenance of various analytic solutions such as queries, reports, dashboards, and models. Dive into data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement. Assist with the development and evaluation of automated processes and workflows; suggest, design, and implement improvements. Analyze financial data to identify trends, anomalies, or inefficiencies. Use statistical techniques to assist with forecasting and budgeting support. Support implementation of automation scripts or workflow improvements.
Reporting and Analysis:
Provide input toward the design and development of interactive dashboards and reports in Power BI that support accounting processes, workflows, and specific team needs. Assist in visualizing key performance indicators, variances, and other metrics for management review.
Data Collection and Cleaning:
Gather financial data from internal and external sources. Clean and organize datasets for analysis. Qualifications Current enrollment in post-secondary collegiate school, preferably pursuing a degree in Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Accounting, Finance, or a related field with an emphasis on data analysis. Experience with Microsoft Power BI with knack for creating clear and compelling visualizations. Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Power BI, and SQL. Fundamental understanding of accounting principles. Ability to work in a fast-paced corporate environment and meet deadlines. Ability to maintain confidentiality and work with sensitive information. Demonstrates strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail and a commitment to validating data accuracy.
