Job Description
Cost Accountant $65k-$80k On-Site | Dayton, OH Our client is seeking a Cost Accountant with strong analytical skills to support accounting and financial reporting during a period of growth and internal change. This role requires someone who can independently analyze financial data, identify discrepancies, and resolve complex accounting issues. Key Responsibilities of Cost Accountant Perform cost accounting, cost analysis, and variance analysis. Prepare and analyze financial and management reports. Support month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting. Cost Accountant will investigate discrepancies and identify root causes. Develop and maintain Excel-based reports and analyses. Analyze costs, margins, expenses, and financial trends. Support accounting process improvements and special projects. Partner with accounting and leadership to provide actionable financial insights. Qualifications of Cost Accountant Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred. Cost Accountant should have progressive accounting or financial analysis experience. Cost accounting and financial reporting experience required. Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables and lookups. Cost Accountant should have strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to independently research and resolve complex accounting issues. Manufacturing or product-based accounting experience preferred. Experience with standard costing, inventory accounting, or variance analysis is a plus. EB-1346177858
