Overview Van's Tire Pros is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to support our growing accounting department and multi-location retail operations. This is a senior-level individual-contributor position and does not currently have direct reports. The Senior Accountant will oversee the accuracy and completion of high-volume accounts payable and accounts receivable activity, perform account reconciliations, lead month-end closing activities, prepare consolidated financial information, and help establish stronger accounting processes and internal controls as the company continues to grow. This position works closely with the AR/AP Specialist and company leadership to ensure transactions are recorded accurately, deadlines are met, and financial information is complete and reliable. You will report directly to the Financial Controller. Responsibilities Prepare, review, and analyze complex journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger activities to ensure accuracy and completeness. Manage accounts payable processes, including invoice processing, vendor payments, and accounts payable automation systems. Conduct detailed analysis using Excel data analysis techniques, including formulas and VLOOKUP functions to support financial reporting and decision-making. Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), and other regulatory standards. Assist with internal controls and audit preparations by providing accurate documentation of financial activities. Support month-end and year-end closing processes through journal entries and account reconciliations. Experience Proven experience in public accounting or corporate accounting roles with a strong understanding of double entry bookkeeping. Extensive knowledge of financial concepts such as debits & credits, general ledger accounting, and account reconciliation. Hands-on experience with various financial software. Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform Excel data analysis using formulas like VLOOKUP and advanced spreadsheet functions. Familiarity with accounting standards such as GAAP and regulatory compliance requirements. Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion while managing multiple priorities efficiently. Excellent communication skills complemented by attention to detail in data entry, invoice processing, and financial reporting.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field. At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience. At least 2 years of experience performing or leading month-end closing activities. Strong experience with general ledger accounting, journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and financial statement preparation. Experience reviewing high-volume accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions for accuracy and completeness. Experience preparing consolidated financial information for multiple locations, departments, or business entities.
Pay:
$79,873.28 - $83,839.12 per year
