We are looking for a Staff Accountant to support a growing consumer products business on a Long-term Contract basis. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting specialist who can work independently, collaborate closely with external accounting partners, and bring structure to day-to-day financial operations. Based in Bend, Oregon, this position will contribute across core accounting functions while helping maintain accurate records and efficient processes in a remote environment.

Responsibilities:

Manage day-to-day accounting activities across accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger processes. Partner with the internal bookkeeper and external accounting firm to keep financial information accurate, timely, and well coordinated. Prepare and post journal entries, reconcile accounts, and support the monthly close process. Oversee receivables activity, including tracking deductions and resolving customer chargebacks. Process invoices and payments while helping establish effective workflows within Bill.com or comparable software. Handle payroll administration for a small employee population with accuracy and consistency. Support sales tax tracking, reporting, and compliance requirements across applicable jurisdictions. Assist with setting up and refining accounting procedures and system-related workflows as business needs evolve. Detail-oriented experience in staff accounting or a similar hands-on accounting position. Working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger activity, and journal entry preparation. Experience managing sales tax processes and related compliance tasks is preferred. Familiarity with customer chargebacks and accounts receivable issue resolution. Experience using Bill.com or a similar accounts payable automation platform is helpful. Ability to work effectively with both internal stakeholders and external accounting partners. Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage priorities in a part-time, remote contract role.
