Staff Accountant Wallowa County Grain Growers | Enterprise, Oregon 30-40 Hours Per Week | Flexible Schedule Are you good with numbers, detail-oriented, and interested in growing your accounting skills with a stable, community-focused organization? Wallowa County Grain Growers is looking for a dependable and motivated Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. While previous accounting experience is helpful, we are willing to train the right person who has a strong foundation in bookkeeping, accounting, finance, or related office work and is eager to learn and grow in the position. This is a great opportunity for someone with accounting experience who is ready for the next step, or someone with strong bookkeeping or financial skills who would like to develop into a broader accounting role. What You'll Do Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting Help with month-end and year-end closing activities Reconcile bank accounts and general ledger accounts Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis Help maintain accurate accounting records and internal controls Prepare documentation and assist with annual audits Work with department managers to research and answer financial questions Help identify ways to improve accounting processes and efficiency Support accounting functions across WCGG's multiple departments and locations Assist with other accounting and administrative responsibilities as needed What We're Looking For We are more interested in finding the right person with the ability and willingness to learn than someone who checks every box. Accounting education or previous accounting experience is preferred, but not required for the right candidate. Experience in bookkeeping, accounts payable, accounts receivable, banking, payroll, office administration, or another numbers-focused position may also provide a good foundation for this role.
Our ideal candidate will have:
Strong attention to detail and accuracy Comfort working with numbers and financial information Basic knowledge of accounting or bookkeeping principles Experience with Microsoft Excel and general computer programs Good organizational and problem-solving skills The ability to maintain confidential information A willingness to learn new systems and accounting processes Dependability and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team A positive attitude and strong communication skills Don't meet every qualification? Schedule This position offers 30-40 hours per week , Monday through Friday, with some flexibility in scheduling.
