$30.00-$34.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications Position Summary Synergy Medical Systems is seeking an experienced Senior Accounting Specialist to oversee day-to-day accounting functions for multiple related companies. This position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, QuickBooks, banking transactions, account reconciliation, and Microsoft Excel. The Senior Accounting Specialist will be responsible for maintaining complete and accurate financial records for five companies , ensuring transactions are properly recorded, accounts are reconciled, and financial information is current and reliable. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who is organized, detail-oriented, dependable, and comfortable working independently while supporting the CFO and company leadership. Key ResponsibilitiesAccounting & Financial Management Maintain complete and accurate accounting records for five companies. Manage day-to-day accounting transactions and financial activity. Enter and code accounts payable, deposits, payments, and other financial transactions. Maintain and reconcile company check registers. Reconcile bank and credit card statements on a regular basis. Research and resolve discrepancies and unusual transactions. Maintain accurate general ledger records. Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures. Prepare financial reports and accounting information for the CFO. Monitor account balances and ensure financial records remain current and accurate. Accounts Payable & Receivable Process and maintain accounts payable for multiple companies. Enter invoices, verify supporting documentation, and ensure proper coding. Track payments and outstanding balances. Enter and reconcile customer deposits and other banking activity. Assist with accounts receivable tracking and collection-related accounting activities as needed. Banking & Reconciliation Review daily banking activity and accurately record transactions. Enter deposits and other banking transactions. Reconcile bank statements and identify discrepancies. Maintain accurate cash balances across multiple company accounts. Assist with banking-related research and documentation. QuickBooks & Excel Maintain accounting records in QuickBooks for multiple companies. Demonstrate strong working knowledge of QuickBooks accounting functions. Utilize Microsoft Excel for reconciliations, reporting, analysis, and tracking. Create and maintain spreadsheets to organize and analyze financial information. Import, export, and manipulate financial data as needed. Additional Responsibilities Calculate and process sales commissions as assigned. Maintain organized and accurate financial documentation. Assist the CFO with special accounting projects and financial analysis. Maintain confidentiality of company financial information. Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiencies. Work closely with management and other departments to resolve accounting questions and discrepancies. Qualifications 3+ years of progressive accounting experience preferred. Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial transactions. Extensive experience with QuickBooks required. Strong Microsoft Excel skills required. Experience reconciling bank accounts and financial statements. Experience working with multiple companies or entities preferred. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to handle confidential financial information professionally. Preferred Experience Experience maintaining complete books for multiple companies. Experience with multi-company accounting. Experience with accounts payable and accounts receivable. Experience with banking and cash reconciliation. Experience with sales commission calculations. Experience supporting a CFO, Controller, or senior financial leader. What We Are Looking For The ideal candidate is an experienced accounting professional who can take ownership of daily accounting responsibilities and keep financial records accurate and up to date. This individual should be comfortable working with multiple companies, have strong attention to detail, and be able to identify and resolve discrepancies without constant direction. Strong QuickBooks and Excel skills are essential for success in this position. Compensation $30.00-$34.00 per hour , based on experience, accounting knowledge, QuickBooks proficiency, Excel skills, and ability to independently manage accounting responsibilities for multiple companies.
