Description We are looking for a Project Accountant to support accounting operations for a construction-focused organization in Salem, Oregon. This Long-term Contract opportunity is ideal for someone who can combine strong project accounting knowledge with hands-on experience in multiple ERP systems. The person in this role will work on site and contribute to financial accuracy, process consistency, and user adoption in an evolving operational environment.

Responsibilities:

• Manage project-related accounting activities, including cost tracking, budget monitoring, billing support, and financial record maintenance for construction work.
• Provide on-site support for the use and optimization of ERP system
• Assist with implementation-related accounting tasks by validating data, reviewing workflows, and helping align financial procedures with system capabilities.
• Partner with project teams and internal stakeholders to maintain accurate reporting, resolve discrepancies, and improve visibility into project financial performance.
• Use Microsoft Excel to analyze financial data, prepare reconciliations, and create reports that support operational and management decision-making.
• Support employees through process changes by answering questions, reinforcing updated procedures, and encouraging effective adoption of new accounting practices.
• Help maintain consistency and continuity in accounting activities by documenting procedures and supporting knowledge transfer across the team. Requirements
• Experience in project or construction accounting, with a solid understanding of job costing, billing, and financial controls.
• Hands-on proficiency with ERP systems
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills, with the ability to organize, analyze, and reconcile financial information accurately.
• Familiarity with system implementation support, including data review, process alignment, or user assistance during rollout activities.
• Strong attention to detail, sound problem-solving skills, and clear communication in a fast-paced environment.
