Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant for a short-term opportunity with a growing mid-sized company. This role will support the month-end close process, financial reporting, account reconciliations, fixed asset accounting, and general ledger maintenance. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Staff Accountant will play a key role in internal reporting, SOX compliance, audit support, and special projects.

Responsibilities:

Prepare complex journal entries and account reconciliations, including cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll accountsPrepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reportingAssist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processesPrepare and maintain monthly financial close workbooksSupport implementation and adherence to internal controls and SOX compliance requirementsMaintain capital lease schedules and monthly payment trackingManage fixed asset accounting, depreciation schedules, and reconciliationsPerform monthly balance sheet account reconciliationsPrepare and maintain recurring journal entriesProcess intercompany billings, transactions, and reconciliationsAnalyze financial data and present findings in a clear and meaningful mannerAssist with financial statement preparation, cash flow projections, and budgeting activitiesSupport quarterly reviews and annual audits by external auditorsParticipate in department initiatives, ad hoc reporting, and special projects
