Job Description

Position Summary:
Penske Transportation Solutions is seeking an Accountant II with a passion for business operations to join our team in Reading, PA. This position will be responsible for monthly accounting activities including preparing journal entries, conducting month-end analytics, and completing account reconciliations. The Accountant II is a result-driven professional who collaborates effectively with team members in a fast-paced environment.
Major Responsibilities:
Prepare accurate, complete, and timely journal entries, account reconciliations, financial statement workpapers, and special projects with adequate support Apply intermediate GAAP knowledge and follow established polices and procedures Prepare and monitor metrics within assigned areas Prepare monthly P&L variance analysis Identify and implement process improvements Work with International teams to review monthly account reconciliations and resolve outstanding issues timely Other projects and ad hoc requests assigned by supervisor
Qualifications:
1 to 3 years experience in the field of accounting required Bachelor's degree in Accounting Intermediate proficiency in the use of Microsoft products, specifically Excel Strong verbal and written communication with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders Strong problem solving, judgment, and organizational skills. Ability to multitask and self-prioritize work. Requirements include willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening
