Job Description

New London Electric is a family run business, serving our community since 1994. Family owned and operated; we are a growing team looking for the right individuals to join the family. We are seeking an experienced Staff Accountant. As part of our team at NLEI you will play an vital role in providing top-notch services to our valued employees, customers and vendors.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Financial Statement Reporting
  • monthly reporting of financial statements to stakeholders. Balance Sheet Reconciliations
  • monthly reconciliations according to GAAP standards. 13-Week Cash Flow Reporting
  • weekly reporting to Executive Team. Accounts Payable
  • invoice data entry, statement reconciliations, check runs. Accounts Receivable
  • collections, week over week collection reporting, auditing non-billable work orders, taking customer payments, bank deposits. Credit Card Management
  • entering credit card receipts, reconciling credit card statements. Inventory Control Management
  • overseeing inventory count cycles, data entry of item movement, maintaining price list. Human Resources
  • onboarding and offboarding employees, administration of employee benefits, maintaining employee files. General Office Responsibilities
  • answering incoming calls, back up to other office positions.
Required Skills & Experience:
Degree in Accounting or Finance required. Intermediate knowledge level of GAAP accounting standards. Computer skills is an important skill set for this position. Proficient in Microsoft products is a must. Attention to detail is a must. This position requires someone who likes to live in details and execute precision. Fast-pace environment, must be able to transition from one task to another easily. Reliable, organized and neat. People service oriented, must have excellent communication, full engagement with stakeholders, comfortable with human interaction.
