We're looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper/Accountant to own our day-to-day financial operations and keep our owners, tenants, and vendors paid accurately and on time. What You'll Do Manage full-cycle bookkeeping for the property management portfolio using Appfolio Process owner payouts on our regular disbursement schedule (10th and 25th of each month) Process vendor payments and manage accounts payable, including invoice reconciliation and coding every Friday Reconcile bank and credit card statements monthly against Buildium records Audit management fees and rent rolls for accuracy; catch and correct billing discrepancies Track and resolve unmatched deposits, checks, and transactions Maintain accurate owner ledgers and prepare owner statements/reports Support month-end and year-end close processes Coordinate with our Property Manager and leadership on financial reporting and audits Maintain organized financial records and documentation for owners and vendors Assist with 1099 preparation and other tax-related documentation Requirements 2+ years of professional bookkeeping or accounting experience required (property management or real estate experience strongly preferred) Must pass a background check Must provide professional references (3) Experience with Appfolio or similar property management/accounting software a big plus High attention to detail and comfort working with high transaction volumes across many accounts Strong organizational and time-management skills — able to hit recurring payout deadlines Clear communicator, able to work with owners, vendors, and internal team members professionally Trustworthy and discreet with sensitive financial information Pay will be based on experience. This position will begin as an in-office role, with the potential to transition to remote work over time. Office hours may vary — we're currently estimating approximately 25 hours per week, though hours may be higher at the start while you train on our procedures and software.
