Billable Hour:

Empower Entrepreneurs, Own Your Strategy, and Build Real Partnerships.

Location:

Indianapolis, IN (Northside / Fishers Area)

Work Structure:

Primarily on-site for deep team integration, evolving into a flexible hybrid schedule as you establish your portfolio. Most public accounting roles trap you in a relentless cycle of transactional data entry, disconnected client files, and burnout culture. At Padgett Business Advisors, we do things differently. We don't just file tax returns; we act as the outsourced strategic allies, fractional CFOs, and financial architects for thriving small-to-medium business owners (typically $500K to $10M in revenue). These entrepreneurs face real scaling bottlenecks, and your technical expertise will directly influence their survival, growth, and long-term wealth. If you are a credentialed professional who loves numbers but thrives on human connection, autonomy, and seeing the tangible impact of your advice, you belong on our growing Indianapolis team.

What You Will Drive:

Your Impact & Responsibilities As a Senior Advisor, you will own client portfolios, shifting seamlessly between high-level advisory and technical execution.

•

Strategic Business Advisory:

Act as a core consultant to small business owners, advising them on operational scaling, cash flow optimization, risk management, and financial growth bottlenecks.

•

Proactive Tax Planning:

Move beyond reactive compliance. Design and implement forward-looking, high-utility tax strategies that protect client assets and maximize profitability throughout the fiscal year.

•

Technical Excellence & Review:

Oversee, prepare, and review complex business (Form 1065, 1120S, 1120) and individual income tax returns with exceptional attention to detail.

•

Relationship Architecture:

Nurture long-term, trust-based relationships with a dedicated roster of local entrepreneurs, becoming the very first person they call when making major business decisions.

•

Team Collaboration:

Partner alongside our close-knit internal bookkeeping, advisory, and accounting teams to deliver seamless, comprehensive financial solutions.

Who You Are:

Experience & Credentials We are looking for a sharp, communicative financial professional who brings a strong technical foundation and a growth mindset.

•

The Credentials:

You hold an active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or Enrolled Agent (EA) designation.

•

The Foundation:

You have 5 to 7 years of recent public accounting or CPA firm experience, specifically focused on private small-to-medium businesses.

•

The Technical Toolkit:

Robust experience in complex entity tax preparation, structuring, and forward-looking tax mitigation strategies.

•

The Soft Skills:

Exceptional communication skills. You can translate complex tax law and financial metrics into clear, actionable advice for a non-technical business owner.

•

The Execution:

The ability to prioritize multiple client needs concurrently without sacrificing precision or data integrity. Why Professionals Choose Padgett Indianapolis

•

Impact Over Transactions:

You get to see the direct results of your advice on local businesses and families, making your daily work deeply rewarding.

•

True Collaborative Culture:

We maintain a supportive, open-door environment. We reject the "siloed" desk mentality; we learn from each other and build solutions together.

•

Evolving Flexibility:

While we value the high-bandwidth collaboration of being together in our modern office to start, we reward trust with autonomy, offering structured hybrid work arrangements as you find your rhythm in the role.

•

Career Evolution:

We are actively expanding. Joining our team now places you on a distinct path toward leadership and deeper strategic consulting opportunities. Ready to Change How You Practice Accounting? If you are ready to trade administrative repetition for a meaningful career in business advisory, we want to meet you.
