1+ Years of Public Accounting Tax Experience•-Client Accounting Services SeniorPosition OverviewThe Client Accounting Services (CAS) Senior is responsible for delivering high-quality accounting and financial operations support to a portfolio of clients. This role leads month-end close, prepares financial statements, manages payroll and invoicing, oversees accounts payable, and ensures compliance with accounting standards and client policies. The CAS Senior acts as a trusted advisor to clients, mentors junior staff, identifies process improvements, and coordinates with CPAs and other service providers to meet client reporting and compliance deadlines.

Key ResponsibilitiesManage end-to-end client accounting services for a portfolio of small•to mid-sized businesses, ensuring timely and accurate financial records.

Lead month-end close processes including preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements.

Process and oversee payroll administration, including payroll tax filings, benefits deductions, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Prepare and send client invoices, track receivables, and manage accounts receivable collections processes.

Oversee accounts payable operations: invoice processing, vendor payments, 3-way matching, and vendor reconciliation.

Serve as the primary client contact for routine accounting questions, month-end reporting, and ad hoc financial requests; escalate technical issues to engagement managers or CPAs as needed.

Coordinate with CPAs and tax teams to support audits, tax preparation, and other compliance engagements.

Review work of junior staff, provide coaching and on-the-job training, and help build scalable processes across the CAS team.

Maintain and improve internal controls and standardized workflows to increase accuracy and efficiency across client engagements.

Use accounting software and tools (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite, Excel) to automate tasks and enhance reporting; recommend technology or process improvements to clients.

Monitor cash flow and provide clients with actionable insights, budgeting support, and financial analysis when requested.

QualificationsBachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA designation preferred or in progress.4+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally with 2+ years in client accounting services, public accounting, or an outsourced accounting environment.

Demonstrated experience with month-end close, financial statement preparation, reconciliations, and journal entries.

Hands-on payroll experience including processing, payroll tax filings and compliance; familiarity with payroll platforms (e.g., ADP, Paychex) preferred.

Strong knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, invoicing best practices, and cash management.

Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite or similar) and advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas).Excellent communication and client-facing skills with the ability to explain technical accounting matters to non-financial stakeholders.

Proven ability to manage multiple client engagements, prioritize tasks, and work independently under deadlines.
