Job Description
Corporate Tax Accountant | Canton, MA | Hybrid Some firms are very good at talking about progression. This one is better at proving it. Around 90% of the partners started here as staff accountants. So if you are 5 to 7 years into public accounting and starting to wonder whether your current firm has a real plan for you, this is worth looking at. You would be joining one of New England's most respected independent accounting and advisory firms. The work is technical enough to keep you interested, the clients are strong, and the firm is still sensible about the fact you might want a life outside tax returns. Hybrid working. No Saturdays. Summer Fridays. 11 holidays. Strong PTO. Proper mentoring. A clear route forward. The role is focused on corporate and business tax. You will work with privately held companies across industries like construction, real estate, energy, manufacturing, distribution, technology, SaaS, life sciences and professional services. This is not a role where you spend all day on endless basic 1040s and slowly lose the will to live. What you will actually be doing Preparing and reviewing corporate and business tax returns Working on S corps, partnerships, C corps and multi state returns Supporting tax planning and advisory work throughout the year Getting involved with client questions, notices, estimates and planning points Working with owners and leadership teams, not just files Helping train and support junior staff Building the technical base to move toward Manager and beyond Why this role is different You get proper client exposure without being thrown in unsupported You get larger firm quality work without big firm burnout You get a firm where people stay and move up You get partners who actually know what you do You get hybrid working, summer Fridays and no Saturdays You get a route forward that is not vague, fake or dependent on someone retiring in 2042 What you will need 5 to 7 years of tax experience in a public accounting firm Strong corporate and business tax experience Exposure to S corps, partnerships, C corps and multi state work Comfort preparing and reviewing returns The ability to speak with clients professionally and practically CPA or CPA progress would be helpful, but the right experience matters most This would suit someone who likes public accounting, but wants a better version of it.
