Job Description

NextStep Recruiting has partnered with a growing manufacturing organization to identify a Payroll Tax & GL Reconciliation Specialist in McKinney, TX. This role is primarily onsite with limited remote flexibility and will support high-volume, multi-state payroll processing, tax administration, and payroll-related accounting for an organization of approximately 1,000 employees. This position is ideal for an experienced payroll professional who enjoys a blended payroll and accounting role, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and brings strong systems knowledge and attention to detail.
Required:
Hands-on Paylocity experience; this is an absolute requirement Multi-state payroll experience supporting a large employee population, including weekly and biweekly payroll cycles Experience processing wage garnishments, child support orders, benefits deductions, and other payroll adjustments Experience with payroll journal entries, GL reconciliations, and payroll-related accounting Strong Excel skills, including formulas, functions, lookups, and data analysis
Preferred:
Experience preparing and filing multi-state sales and use tax returns Background within manufacturing, construction, or another project-based environment Experience supporting payroll system implementations, conversions, or go-live initiatives Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field CPP certification If you're looking for a hands-on opportunity where you can combine payroll expertise with accounting responsibilities while supporting a growing organization, we'd love to connect.
