The ideal candidate will possess strong financial acumen and a comprehensive understanding of property management accounting practices. This role involves managing financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing accurate financial reporting for various properties. The Property Accountant will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial health of our portfolio while collaborating with property managers and other stakeholders. This is a hybrid position, three days in our Bedford office and 2 days working remotely weekly. Responsibilities Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and reports for assigned properties. Perform bank reconciliations to ensure all transactions are accounted for. Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments. Conduct cash flow analysis to monitor liquidity and financial stability. Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts for property operations. Ensure compliance with accrual accounting principles and relevant regulations. Collaborate with legal teams regarding wills, trusts, and estate law as it pertains to property management. Provide support during audits by preparing necessary documentation and reports. Experience Proven experience in property accounting or a similar role is preferred. Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles, including accrual accounting and cash flow analysis. Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders.
