About Us Wolfe Premier Construction is a premium residential general contractor serving the Hudson Valley and Catskills. Our work includes whole-home renovations, additions, kitchens, baths, exteriors, and new construction, often architect-designed, for clients who expect well-managed sites, clear communication, and a high standard of finish. We are growing, and this role is the first step in building the field team that supports that growth. The Engagement Wolfe Premier Construction is seeking an experienced Site Superintendent to provide site supervision and project coordination services on active residential projects. This is a field-based role engaged on a per-project basis through an independent contractor agreement. The Superintendent operates through their own business entity, carries their own insurance, and invoices for services rendered. Compensation is structured either as an hourly rate or a negotiated flat rate per project. We are currently building the project pipeline for this role, with initial engagements expected to begin in the coming months. Engagements typically run from several weeks to several months depending on project scope. As the company grows, expanded roles, including full-time employment, may become available for the right person. Scope of Services Coordinate the daily schedule on the job site, including subcontractor sequencing and handoffs Inspect each trade's work prior to cover-up and hold subcontractors to plan, specification, and code Read and interpret architectural and structural drawings and identify conflicts before they become change orders Schedule permits and inspections with the building department and be on site for them Coordinate material procurement, deliveries, returns, and dump runs Complete punch lists, touch-ups, and light finish carpentry to close out each project Maintain a daily log in the company project management platform with photos, progress notes, and open issues Provide same-day written notice of any issue requiring an owner decision Keep the site clean, organized, and safe Outside the Scope Client pricing, contracts, payments, and change order negotiation. All financial matters with clients and subcontractors are handled by the owner. Large-scale framing or production carpentry, which is subcontracted separately. Qualifications 10+ years in residential construction with a solid carpentry background preferred. Other applicable experience will be considered; please note it in your application. Demonstrated ability to read structural and architectural plans and build from them Experience supervising subcontractors and holding them to a quality standard Working knowledge of New York residential building code and the local inspection process Organized, punctual, and communicative Proficient with mobile project management software and standard office tools such as Google Workspace, Excel, or Smartsheet Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle Able to lift 50 lbs, work from ladders, and remain on foot throughout the day on an active site Contractor Requirements Registered business entity (LLC or sole proprietorship), or willingness to establish one prior to start. Contracts and payments are issued to your business. General liability insurance, current or obtained prior to start (broker referral available on request) Execution of a confidentiality agreement covering client information, pricing, and project details Additional terms, including scope, schedule, and invoicing, will be discussed during the interview process and defined in the project agreement Compensation $38 to $48 per hour depending on experience, or a negotiated flat rate per project Payment against invoices on an agreed cycle How to Apply Please submit a summary of your background, the types of projects you have supervised, and photos of completed work if available.
