Job Description

COMACT is an industry leader in the design and manufacture of equipment for wood processing mills. The company primarily serves the North American market by delivering a complete range of innovative equipment, digital technologies, brownfield and greenfield project services, turnkey installations, and aftermarket support. The company has over 1,700 employees working across multiple related entities in North America. The Senior Accountant will support accounting processes within the project services and manufacturing business sectors and ensure financial reporting compliance with company policy and accounting principles. The position will be based in the Saint George, SC office with potential flexible remote work and reports directly to the Financial Controller. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Prepare financial statements in accordance with established company policies and accounting principles
  • Prepare monthly account reconciliations to accurately present the balance sheet
  • Assist in annual financial audits and third-party agency audits as required
  • Assist operations in preparing annual budgets, monthly forecasts and expense analysis
  • Analyze and report variances to budgets and forecasts, track job cost performance and maintain daily cash reporting
  • Liaison and support communication between operations and finance
  • Perform job costing creation, review and analysis
  • Intercompany transaction posting and reconciliation
  • Tax department support and interface
  • Maintain understanding of critical success factors for division and the business to support management for improving operational and financial performance
  • Become a value add accounting partner to leaders and facilitate financial initiatives
  • Prepare ad hoc analysis to support management in decision-making efforts Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance and has a thorough understanding of GAAP
  • 5+ years accounting experience
  • Experience with month end, quarter end and fiscal year end close processes
  • Excellent analytical skills with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with a consistent and solid work ethic
  • Proficient Excel skills working in established spreadsheets and developing efficiencies
  • Independent self-starter who enjoys a dynamic work culture
Pay:
$60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
