Job Description

Senior Property Accountant, under the direction of the Accounting Manager, works collaboratively to manage financial aspects of KETTLER Managements apartment communities. We are looking for an enthusiastic, customer-service focused individual. He/she will be responsible for day to day accounting operations of several residential apartment and retail/commercial communities which will include the preparation of the financial statements and other owner and investor requests. The Senior Property Accountant will also assist in the preparation and analysis of the operating budgets and other special projects as assigned by the Accounting Manager. Operating revenue and expense variance analysis Reconciliation of balance sheet and general ledger accounts to supporting reports Prepare Monthly bank reconciliations Responsible for monthly payments for debt service, owner distribution calculations, etc. Responsible for real estate tax and insurance payments, to avoid late payments and penalties Responsible for personal property tax filings and business licenses. Post monthly accruals and work with Regional and Property managers for accuracy Prepare replacement reserve filings Maintain and update schedules for Equity Facilitate with annual budget process by preparing supporting schedules and working with the site team Assist site team with budget re-forecast and cash re-forecasts Answer audit questions and assist with preparing supporting schedules Timely resolution of problems and issues Ongoing communication with regional operational and site managers and third party ownership as needed Process improvement identification Other tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
BA or BS Degree in Accounting/Finance is required Minimum of 7 years experience is required Knowledge of GAAP is required Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (vlookups, pivot tables, sumifts, etc.) Great communication skills (both verbal and written) Strong ability to work under pressure independently or in team environment Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously Experience with Yardi is preferred Demonstrates ability and interest to develop strong analytical skills The above-referenced position summary is a guideline designed to present an overview of the job duties and is not intended to be a comprehensive list of responsibilities and requirements.
