Staff Accountant Location:
Maple Grove, MN (Hybrid schedule after training, only local candidates in Minnesota will be eligible for consideration)
Compensation:
$75,000 - $95,000 /annually dependent on applicable experience

This position is eligible for medical, dental, vision, and 401(k). We are seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to join a growing accounting team in Maple Grove. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys digging into the details, investigating discrepancies, analyzing financial data, and understanding the "why" behind the numbers. In addition to core accounting responsibilities, this person will serve as a technical resource, evaluate existing processes, identify inefficiencies, and help implement improvements that increase accuracy, consistency, and efficiency across the accounting function.
Responsibilities:
Own key components of the month-end close process, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations Perform detailed analysis of general ledger activity, account balances, and financial results Investigate variances, discrepancies, and unusual transactions to identify root causes and drive resolution Evaluate accounting processes and workflows to identify inefficiencies, gaps, and opportunities for improvement Analyze financial data and trends to identify potential risks, errors, or areas requiring further review Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations with a focus on accuracy and underlying account activity Research complex accounting issues and provide recommendations based on findings Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reporting and analysis Develop and maintain supporting schedules, reports, and accounting documentation Identify opportunities to standardize processes, strengthen controls, and improve efficiency across the accounting function Partner with accounting and cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues, improve workflows, and increase data accuracy Support audit requests and provide detailed explanations and documentation as needed Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred 3+ years of progressive general ledger accounting experience Strong technical accounting foundation with experience across journal entries, reconciliations, close, and financial reporting Demonstrated ability to analyze large amounts of financial data and investigate discrepancies Naturally curious and investigative with strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills Advanced Excel skills and the ability to effectively work with accounting systems and financial data Ability to identify opportunities for process improvement and translate findings into practical solutions Ability to understand the bigger picture while maintaining a high level of attention to detail Comfortable researching issues independently and taking ownership through resolution Why choose Addison Finance & Accounting?
